I am a C+ prestige in D1. If I am a backup, can I pull down that player?

Yes, just approach them like you would in DII or DIII.

They exist, but there is also a far better chance of having them taken right back away from you by a better team. Typically in D2 or D3 that doesn't happen much once you pull the guy down as people avoid battles and prestige isn't as important. in D1 if you are C+ and pull down a player, there is a good chance of a B+ team coming and taking him right back from you.

mjp8 is correct.  Prestige is WAY more influential and battles way more common at D1, so unless you are local with $40k to devote to the guy, you have to worry about someone else going for the player....unless they just aren't very good but still highly rated, which happens.

I recruited the #15 PG with a C- school, but he sucked.  Low potentials all over.  No A/B school would have wanted him.

Thanks - I decided not to try the pulldown - it sounded like too much money and the player was already considering another team.
