I lost a lot of money on a guy I pulled down too slowly in Knight recruiting and ultimately spent nearly $4000 on and lost to a D2 school early on signing day. I was left with enough money to toss 2 HVs and a scholly at a D3-level player within 200 miles. I'd already basically locked up 2 guards, so I wanted a post. I decided to take a shot on a guy with these ratings and potentials:
ATH - 44, low
SPD - 16, high
REB - 54, high
DEF - 39, high
SB - 48, high
LP - 16, high
PER - 26, high
BH - 19, high
Pass - 21, high
Sta - 69, avg
Dur - 22, avg
FT - 60.9%, high
The big problem is that the guy only has 22 WE, so he almost certainly won't cap out all of those highs. He also has an unimpressive dose of ATH. So how was this signing given the relative limitations of my position? I'm hoping to RS him this year and then start him against weaker teams next year (decent starting ATH, REB, DEF should let me do that without getting destroyed) to try to get his WE up as much as possible, and he could easily soar past 600 even without capping out; likely well over 700 with better WE. But with the limited ATH I'm really not sure how good a player he will become.
