I can't remember how this works.  I have a guy I signed this season with 1 season service time.  He was released by his former team into free agency and I signed him to a 1-year contract for like 2 million.  He will not yet be eligible for arbitration next season.  I'm not sure I've had this situation before so I'm hoping someone can answer.  What will be his salary after rollover?  Will it revert back to the normal salary for a pre-arb guy (i..e. ~360K)?  This is what I would expect but I'm not sure.  I just want to make sure it won't renew at his current 1-yr contract term.  If that's the case I will release him before rollover.  Any help on a definitive answer would be appreciated.  Thanks.

If I understand what you're saying, it will be 500k.

Not disagreeing with you, but what's the thinking behind that?  Does signing a FA/non-automatic contract just negate the usual 343/360/378k pattern?  Would the guy get 500k or thereabouts for each pre-arb season he has left? 

For example if I managed his BL service time to stretch out that one season into several for whatever reason..would he get 500k, then 520k, then 540k or something along those lines?
