I don't see him as anything special.    You should probably get something more similar to last season than this.   For whatever reason, he's giving up a lot of homers for such a high GB rating.   

His splits are a tad low.  What is the pitch calling rating of your catcher?

he's not very good to begin with and he's having bad luck in a smallish sample size of 200 IP.   he's not going to have an oav of .293 forever.

he sucks as a SuA though, 62 vR is pretty bad.

shave 20-25 points off his opponents' average and he's pretty much performing to expectations.

Season 22 is exactly what I would expect from him.

Since Rp's throw so few innings (small sample size every season) the stats can vary widely with just a couple of bad outings. Take away the following preformances, 4/3 PM2, 4/4 PM, 4/16 AM and 4/29 AM and he looks quite a bit better in his other 44 games even with a couple bad games left in.

 

It's the 59-62 vsR that's killing him combined with being a lefty (ie. RHB will hit lefties better...on avg).  Plus he throws only two pitches and no FB so the ball is in play ALL the TIME!
