Wright State- Rupp

Long story short, I've brought a D+ prestige to a B- and have A+ Rep, loyalty, and spotless rep.

Jobs read:

4 Not Qualified (Indiana B+, Ohio State B+, Arkansas B, Alabama B-)
34 Keep Looking (Range from Fresno St, Michigan, and Utah at B- to James Madison and La Salle D+)
135 Step Backwards (Range from C- on down)
0 Longshot

Doesn't this seem out of whack? Why the holy hell would I be keep looking at some other mid-major with a lesser prestige? Also, when I moved up to Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame I left a mid-major that I brought up to B- or C+ to a school that was a lower prestige. I'd like to move up to another Big 6, but I won't be able to move to schools like West Virginia (C+), Georgia Tech (C), or even Seton Hall (C-).

And yes I understand that it's possible to get a Keep Looking job, but it seems very rare, as I already experienced this with the auto-reject responses the last jobs process in Crum, with the same situation with a team with a better resume.

if you can return to the NT and win an NT game next season that will open a bunch of those doors.  Not saying it is right or wrong, just saying that that is what I think it will take

calm down, u made it to 2 NTs and won 0 NT games at a crappy school.  it will take more success than that to get a sweet job

Keep Looking doesn't mean you won't get the job, as you said.  It is not that rare to get one.  

I have a magical NT win at UTSA and in the same scenario. I'd be lucky to get James Madison if I wanted it, let alone a "sweet job". Not sure where you believe a Keep Looking isn't that rare, based on personal experience and the experience of others, the odds seem about 5% if not lower.

I feel your pain.  Coming off my 1st national title in D2 Rupp, with a last 6 seasons of  Nat'l Champ, sweet 16, elite 8, elite 8, NT 1st rd and NT 1st round, I am not qualified for such D1 powerhouses as.........Toledo and Gardner-Webb. The only 2 schools with a prestige better than C- I am qualified for are Appalachian St and IPFW.    I dont even qualify for D+ Lasalle.   Guess the whole going back 10 seasons kills me, as it goes all the way back to seasons 2-5 before I knew how to play the game.  Glad I wasn't planning on leaving 

make the nt - get to a B - many of the keep lookings will turn to qualified or longshots

I have a similar resume to you in D3 and I'm qualified for all kinds of D1 jobs, even low level BCS. BTW, I think milkamania has a problem with total number of wins. I don't think it is the 10 year window causing problems for milk but instead the lack of even 200 wins.

I think your problem is your reputation. "OK" is going to cause you problems.

So ... It's known that the Ivy places a premium on reputation. Is the opposite true? Look at the two jobs you are eligible for and the reps of the coaches at the time the game was created. It would be pretty messed up if that's why you are qualified for the two but it would make sense, no?

I feel dirty just making this post.

Damn, I feel stupid as hell for forgetting about my Rep, but you're absolutely right, that's what is holding me back.  I'm gonna go ahead and remove my foot from my mouth now and delete my post because you've hit on the answer.  Thanks Jayhawk, again forgot all about my Rep not being where it should be.  Ouch!
