Take WE out of Ratings Topic

I think Whatif should take the WE out of the overall rating just like FT isn't part of it.  Or even make WE a grade like FT.  It would give more realistic ratings.

I wouldn't be a fan of this -- a WE of 5 and a WE of 35 could, for example, very well both receive an "F" grade, but I darn sure want to know which form of the 'F' I have before signing someone.

Agree with rednu. FT% has a grade but we also see a % while recruiting.

I'd take a 35 WE on my team but not a 5 and both would get terrible grades.

Booo.

Id rather give FTs a # rating.

I disagree with taking WE out.  WE is very important when considering the overall rating of a player, especially when taking into account his potential.  But the overall rating of a player shouldn't be taken into consideration anyway.  Only overall rating of core attributes, coupled with WE and potential.

If anything needs to be taken out of overall rating, it's durability.  Durability is the only thing I never take into consideration.

I never take overall ratings into account at all, so it doesn't really matter whether WE plays a factor or not. I think that most good recruiters don't focus at all on OVR.

Probably small sample size, since I'm not a super-long-term player, but I think something changed about durability.  Seems like injuries are up, in my experience and judging by the number of posts in the forums over time.

There is a chance that the OP meant to take WE out of the Overall rating but leave it as a shown attribute.

I agree, or at least change how durability works. If it had some kind of effect on the % chance a player gets injured in addition to recovery time i may actually consider durability when recruiting.

I actually think the argument of making FT a number rating sounds good. Although either way I could care less because i've never focused on FT, which could be why my teams are usually such lousy FT shooters.

+1 I have to assign a number to it so that I can put it in my excel spreadsheet. I don't look at overall ratings at all anyway. To me durability has no meaning either.

i've never thought about assigning a number for FT, but its not a bad idea. it should be pretty easy to get a global, uniform numbering system, if multiple coaches chip in. the FT letter grade a recruit comes to campus with is based on the FT% number on the recruit profile (pre-arrival on campus). if we get a compilation of what letter grades those numbers convert to @ signing, we could use those numbers to sub for the letter grade. i'm sure someone has diligently kept track of this over the seasons, but i for one have not...
