i just took over a d3 a+ prestige team in the allen world and was wondering if anyone has tips on recruting is there anything you need to do different when recruting with a a+ prestige rather than what i have done with a only b prestige teams and with a+ prestige how should i recruit only in d2 or only in d3 or both

Recruit the best players.  It doesn't matter if they are on your d2 or d3 list.

Only D2 and up, unless there is something terrific listed as D3. I would put in phone calls to all the d2 guys that seem to have a shot at dropping. See who has some interest and then decide to wait for them to drop or try pull down on the closer guys. Plus place calls to low end D1 talent within 70 miles of your school, they can drop to d2 and then be pulled down to D3 with scouting trips.

This. With an A+ prestige, there will be some pretty good players on your D3 list already.

Yeah, fatchance hasn't coached D3 recently enough in this case.  At this point I probably get half of my players out of the D3 recruiting pool.

Also remember that prestige isn't a huge multiplier in D3, except for the fact that it lets you talk to better players. But sometimes you'll hear coaches in the forums debating whether or not an A+ prestige is 15% or 20% or whatever better than an A prestige. But that's D1, ignore that totally for DIII. Distance is way more important at DIII.

I have to agree with the above sentiments. When recruiting with an A+ prestige, I often find that the D3 players are better than the available D2 players.

These three players were on my D3 list when I recruited them:

Perhaps I am rusty as to what is available from the get go on the d3 list for an A+ prestige team. However I still believe the rest of what I said will put you in solid to great shape. You want to be on those drop downs before the A or A- etc. teams have the same crack at them so get those calls in round one on the higher level players.

This.  I'd say at least 1/3 of my current players are from the D3 list.
