The Heartland conference in D2 Iba is one of the top D2 conferences in the Iba world (we were #2 all season, but got passed during the Final Four to the GLV). We play a Challenge every season with the #1 conference in D2 Iba, the CVAC. Both conferences have been full, but one of our coaches decided to leave and created a great opportunity for anyone looking for an active, competitive and full conference.
The open school is Lincoln (
http://www.whatifsports.com/hd/TeamProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=6278). The team has D+ prestige and plays FB/Zone. If a coach wants to change that, this would be a good time to do it. The team will have 2 open schollies, but will return 6 SRs and will then have 6 open after next season. You could play the old system (with 6 SRs who already have great IQs) and practice the new one and then recruit your guys for your system after next season. We have $5,125 in extra recruiting money per team, so a new coach would also have the option of cutting a player and signing 3 this season.
