did I deserve a bid? Topic

I seem to think I did with my Iowa team in Tark.  8-8 in the #3 RPI conference, 15-12 overall, 2-3 vs top 25 teams (not counting a win over Charlotte who is ranked 15 now but was unranked when we played), #15 sos, #38 rpi.

Oh, and as a kicker, in rd 1 of the PIT I play a team that beat me in non-con.

Way too many losses to mediocre teams and you have an artificially inflated RPI based on the non-conference road games. Some good wins, no doubt, but the system penalized you out of the NT for those bad losses.

The part you listed WAS worthy unfortunately you also did NOT list ...

Lost to 126, 131, 123, 113

6 - 7 vs top fifty.

7 - 8 vs top 100
Only 7-4 against RPI's worse than 100.

And that loss to that team in non con is likely one of the reasons you were not in.

Yeah, you had some good wins, but too many bad losses.

I think the 7-4 versus RPI at 100+ was far more damaging than the 7-8 versus top 100.  Had that 7-4 been 11-0, I think he's probably in.

Indeed.  Just pointing out the rest at the same time.  ANy of the above being better might have transitioned from PT to NT.  Another couple top fifty wins?  Possibly in.

But I think possibly even 8 - 3 or 9 - 2 might have gotten into the NT; or as I'd put it, if he had beaten that worse than hundred RPI team the first time he wouldn't have been playing them in the PT the second time... Looking at his second game though, I do think sub fivehundred teams should be bounced from the PT as well as the NT.
