Durability and games played Topic

I know I've seen this before...but can't search it up.

What does Durability mean in terms of games played.....or started, actually.....for positional players.

For example, I have an 86 Durabilty 2B, a CF who is 87 and a COF who is 81.  I generally have a rotation where they each sit once every ten games.  My COF dips below 100% once in a while during the last 1/4 of the season, but the other guys never do. I can play them the last 25 games or so with no dip below 100%,

Do you figure durability represents how many innings they can play, a guy of 81 Durability can play 81% of the innings, etc?

No.  Some positions are more taxing(how much is up for debate).

Mid 90s can play every inning.
Mid 80s can play about 1300.
Mid 70s can play about 1200.

Catchers seems to struggle to get that many as do MIF.   1B/DH can usually play more.    Plate Appearances also factor in.

Mike,

In the cases I mentioned above, I would assume that CF and 2B are more taxing than COF.  Being so, a guy of 86 would fatigue about as fast at 2B as a guy of 81 would at the COF spots.

Or something like that.

My COF (80 Durability last year) played 1167 innings, occasionally dipping below 100%
My 2B (84) played 1268 innings.  My CF (86) played 1265 innings. I don't remember them dipping below 100%.

Looks like my COF came in a a defensive replacement in 12 games and PH in 18 others....161 games total.

Your numbers look pretty close, Mike....

Yeah, I'm not sure if the fatigue level mirrors the defensive spectrum but it's pretty similar,

The COF AB and DR innings still count as time played.
