Amateur Draft Help Topic

Hey HD Owners I'm looking for some assistance, I have been in HD Leagues several seasons but it seems my picks are NOT
as some owners drafting behind me.  I have 8 in College Scouting and 12 High School, first is that enough?  I also had 14 Adv
scouting.   Next when looking at pitchers do you put more stock in the L/R Batting or is the GB/FB better? In hitting I'm always
looking at the Batting eye, then LHP vs RHP stats.
Next, does anyone do formula builder in the amateur draft? and if so what settings/ratings do you input?
Sorry if this winded but any help at all will be appreciated.
Thanks once again.

I'll give you some input:

With 8 and 12 as your scouting budgets, you're kind of mediocre in both categories.  You're better of in moving towards 20 and 0.  Check your world to see where most people are concentrating (college or high school) and go the opposite way (less competition).

For pitchers, splits are much more important than GB/FB.  Particularly, the vsR split as there typically are more RHB than LHB in a typical world.

You can check your world but, if it's "normal", your pitchers will face 63-65% RH batters.    Therefore, IMO, VR is almost twice as important as VL.   Both are more important that GB/FB.   GB/FB only seems to be a real problem at the extreme low end.     Hitting stats work together so pinpointing one as "most important" is difficult.    Set acceptable minimums in contact, power, splits, eye and work off that.

As tec said, work toward a higher number in college/HS scouting.  If you're going to spend 20m combined, 20/0 or even 18/2 is much better than 8/12.

Finally, your ADV does not matter with HS/College players.   The projections you see come from your HS/College scouting budget.
