Where should the scoring come from in triangle off Topic

When running the triangle it is generally understood that 2 awesome scorers and 1 good scorer is sufficient (strictly offensively speaking).  What is the optimum lay out for positioning of those players?

Obviously it is good if the scoring is divided between bigs and guards.  Does it matter if the great scorer is a PG or SG?  Does it matter if the 2nd great scorer is a PF or C?  Are those positions interchangable or should one follow a specific pattern?  Assuming the scoring is divided between Bigs and guards, is there benefit in having the top scorers be at one specific position over another?

Thanks for the insight.

PF and C are totally interchangable for me. I don't care which is the better scorer. For guards, I prefer the SG to be the scorer. It probably doesn't matter much, but I like the idea of keeping my PG in the more traditional role as QB. I also like a strong scoring SF as the 3rd primary shooter.  However, in some seasons I have had my PG and both bigs as the threesome. It really boils down to what is available during recruiting.

What I try to do is have:

One inside scorer (ATH and LP)  this is usually a PF or C but in theory could be a SF.   I don't believe position matters.

One perimeter shooter (SPD and PER).  Can be a 1,2, or 3.    According to billyg, these guys are super productive in triangle.  I almost always set him to +2 so he is raining threes.

One "slasher" type (SPD, BH, hopefully FT) and set him to -2.  This is usually my PG but could be the 2 or 3.

I tend to find the guards produce more points.   I think it is easier to "matchup" with a good low post player through settings and assignment.

I don't think it really matters.
