The Alpha league is a 16 team progressive that advances 2 seasons at a time. The league started with the 1885/1886 season and is currently in season 12, 1907/08. Each season owners choose which of 2 seasons to use for each of their players (assuming players are WIS eligible both seasons).

The owner of the Cincinnati Reds, jt111583, dropped suddenly with no explanations from many baseball and basketball progressive leagues.. The league is nearing the end of the season and the Reds are 67-66 thus far.

Due to the double season format, turnover of players is fairly rapid and teams can be turned around quickly.

The Reds roster for 1907/08 is shown below. There are enough players with the double season format to fill rosters but the league does permit 6 position and 4 pitcher AAA players to cover any shortage of PA or IP. I have shown comments for players who are retired for the 1909/10 season or are (in my opinion) candidates to be cut. We are currently posting keepers so the first task of a new owner would be to post keepers for the team. i will give interested owners access to our private forum. League rules are available in the private forum, the available player list will be posted there when all keepers have been posted and the 1909/10 draft will be held there. The Reds will likely be drafting about 8th or 9th in the 16 team league.

With the double season format the turnaround time to improve poor teams is short. This is a very interesting era and we have a solid group of owners in the league which will be entering it's 13th season. Babe Ruth and many other great stars will be entering the league in the near future.
