His ath/def combo are obviously nice, but are his bh/pa/reb too poor to play him at backup sf? I can't decide if I should just cut him or not. Thanks.

A guy with that much ATH and DEF I'd probably keep unless you had a much better option available as the signing deadline approached.

Given that you appear to play man, I would probably even start that guy against teams who get a lot of points out of their starters at the 3.

i see... so basically the thought is the value at the 3 for reb/bh/pa is really not all that important in comparison to ath/def combo. thanks for the info. Would you the say the same thing for this guy?

I had a guy like that, as a senior his ATH/DEF was 83/94 at D3. He also had SPD in the 50s. He was below average everywhere else (not terrible, but not good either) and was an absolute shutdown defender that warranted starting. He held the leading scorer in the nation to a season low 8 points, 5 of which didn't even come while he was on the court. (the scorer shot 1-9 against him).

Both of those guys are good as part-time stoppers. tough to put 'em out there against a press, i'd say, but if your opponent's leading scorer is at SF, I'd run them out as starters.
