It's been a good long while since my last Sim Baseball team. The sim has probably changed 1,000 times since I've last drafted a team. I've been really trying to get motivated to start playing again, so I'd like some help getting back into things.

With that said, Is there anyone who can link me to a forum that may help me get to know the basics of building a team for this new sim? 

Any and all help will be appreciated greatly. I'm not looking for people to give up their deepest and darkest secrets that help them coach or win, just a basic or generic guide to help me understand what to look for in players and stadiums.

P.S - As you can tell from my owner card, I used to be somewhat good at Simleague Baseball. I had 10 playoff appearances and 2 championships in my first handful of teams. I took a break from what if for sometime and tried to come back numerous times with horrible results. I'd like to do things right this time. Thanks!

 

There are a lot of good threads in here; just invest some time and read, baby, read ...

I've read a ton of them, and nothing goes in detail to explain the advanced stats of pitchers or players.

Most of what I read contradicts itself at some point. Players with lower ERA/OAV and Whip pitch better than the more expensive guys...etc...etc

biglenr and just4me recently helped me out greatly going through the ins and outs of building a basic $80 mil pitching staff. I was especially interested in non-AAA situations, but the advice mostly carries back to open leagues I'd imagine, if that's your thing.

Oh, and if you hadn't seen, they announced a huge site revamp, so don't get too comfy with the "current SIM".

Thank you a ton, Ioma_prieta... It'll be nice to get a small grasp on things until the new changes. At least at that point, I'll be on a somewhat fairer playing ground. 8-)
