History Double Progressive League - FULL Topic

History Double Progressive League needs two owners!

- League has exceptional ownership and is very competitive top to bottom for a prog league.

- $25 GC entry fee for prize pool. (Already paid)

- Progressive season league started in 1951 - 1981 continuing thru to 1980 - 2010. Player pool comes from two seasons. For the upcoming season we will use the 1973-74 & 2003-04 seasons.

- You are not limited to a specific number of players from either of the 2 years... you can have all from one year if you want

- 15 man rosters and unlimited cap space. Three are desiginated as reserve (i.e., same as rookies in an open league).

- Keepers: no limit on how many you can keep - keep 0, keep 15 - your call

- Payout will be 1st - $275, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $150, 4th - $125, 5th - $100, 6th - $75, 7th - $50, 8th - $25 Essentially there are $1000.00 worth of GC's to be had.

- League issues and banter are conducted in a private forum here on the site.

- Points are allocated each season based on finish and playoff results.

- Trade committee in existence to help insure fairness.

- Trading of future picks is allowed. There is a cap of 2 seasons ahead.

- Draft order is set based on 60 game mark. This is early enough to prevent late season tanking. At season's end the 60 game records are recovered, then the playoff teams are removed. The worst to best records are ordered in what becomes the lottery. The NY State lottery is used and each team gets a set of numbers similar to the distribution fo the real NBA lottery. The results of the lottery dictate the draft order for the first twelve picks. The playoff teams are seeded based on record.

- You must have 19,000 minutes after the draft is complete. If you are short of this mark you will be forced to change your later picks until you reach 19,000 total minutes.

- As inferred in the first rule, owners who have paid the GC and leave the leave will not receive their investment back.
If interested, please post here! We are currently going into season 23 (of 30 total seasons). We definitely are looking for owners willing to run the next 8 seasons. That will encompass a little more than the next year.

- Team must keep same city but can change nickname.

Note: We are getting ready to start drafting for the upcoming season (1973-74/2003-04).

I assume team #1 is in the lottery? If so, did it trade its first round pick for the upcoming draft? Obviously players that were rookies in 1973 and 2003 will be available, what about players that are currently not on a roster that played a season before 1973 or 2003, are they in the draft pool as well? I'm willing to play as long as the team available has its draft picks in tact. Let me know, thanks.

Carolina has it's pick. 5th or 6th best chance to win the lotto. The lotto determines the top 6 picks (which differs from other progressives where it usually determines just the top 3). Players not on a roster that have a player season available in the database for either of those years are available. We are lucky to have zizzo who lists all available players in the forum. Hands down, best league I've played in. Not often a team becomes available here.

Ok, sign me up. You sold me, although this team looks like a 2-3 season project to make a playoff run, but starting the year of the 2003 draft with a top-6 pick makes it possible within a few seasons.
