Defensive Ratings Topic

I did some work on defensive ratings a few years ago on my own a few years ago and I posted my results on this forum. The results I were getting were far more reasonable than the ones we have today.

So I will ask the question again, when are defensive ratings going to get fixed here? Bill Russell's career defensive ratings are just ludicrous. Why do we not implement a better system that produces more accurate results?

Good luck getting a response. It's needed to be fixed for a long time, but they just don't care.

That is what is confusing. Exactly why? Fixing the defensive ratings will have a huge impact on how well WIF captures real-life.

I am willing to work on creating more realistic defensive ratings, just not sure why it is not getting as much attention as it deserves. It's ruined the name of some players.

Trust me... they just don't care.  I don't know why, but they don't.

Russell's lower defensive ratings are equivalent to making Gretzky a decent point getter in hockey, or making Montana just a decent quarterback in football. It looks just terrible and anyone who is looking at playing this game sees this, they are going to laugh and leave. It puts a black eye on the whole site and I don't understand why they would want to look so stupid.

I completely agree. If it was very difficult or impossible to fix, I could see the issue. But there are solutions, its just a matter of applying them and drastically improving the system.

WIS has ZERO desire to improve their NBA SIM.  They've proven that over and over and over again the last several years.

Well okay then,
WIF team if at any point you decide to improve your ridiculous defensive ratings, please inform me and I would be gladly willing to help if I can.
