Re-sign your own FA with No-trade Clause Topic

I seem to remember FA including something in Player Remarks like "I don't want to sign with someone just to be traded for a boatload of prospects" if they wanted a NT clause as part of the deal. My question is, do those remarks appear only for FA you are trying to sign (from other clubs) and not those you are trying to re-sign?

I ask because I have a guy who has nothing in the Player Remarks, but the check box for No Trade clause is checked by default when I go to the re-sign page. It matters because I am trying to negotiate a sign-and-trade for him, but obviously that may not work if the No Trade clause is *necessary* for him to re-sign with me.

Thoughts?

Seems like that is part of his demands.

Of course, the simple solution is to un-check it and see if he signs.

True, but for the fact that the contract I would give him (if I was keeping him) and the contract the trading partner would prefer (if a sign-and-trade is possible) aren't of the same length.

Hence my coming to the forum to see if anyone had experienced a similar situation, rather than just signing him to a deal.

I have had players want a no-trade as part of re-signing with me, but I do not remember whether the remarks included that or not.
