You're a Hall of Famer with 10 championships. We should be asking you.

There is a current thread on exactly these pitchers already in course.

It is called "Interesting Stats" - it did not start about pitchers but you will see it gets to them pretty early on.

What purpose?  Progressive league?

If yes, IMO, you have them in the right order.

I am in the same boat.  I have the first pick in an upcoming '65 draft and I have been going back and forth between Palmer and Carlton.  Right now, I am leaning towards Palmer, but the "interesting stats" thread Italyprof mentioned is making me second guess.  To see how close the 2 of them are between 69-75 and knowing that Carlton hasn't even hit his dominant years (outside of '72) makes me think he may be the choice.  I don't think you can go wrong with either guy and it is a good problem to have.  The longer we go before we draft, the more time I have to flip flop in my head

If that is the same upcoming 1965 season my team is in, byeags25, I think your best strategy is to trade that pick to me for a middle reliever or a utility infielder - the stress of having to choose can cause health issues and lack of sleep. But I would be happy to make the sacrifice, much as I like Frank Bertaina or Jim Davenport. :-)

It is that same draft. While that is a tempting offer, I think I'll keep the pick and deal with the stress. :)

Thanks for the input !

Did you honestly need to start a new thread for this when you just started one a week or 2 ago?

Catfish has been great for a couple of OL teams and at least one theme team, though I can't remember which one and context is everything in themes.

Palmer was good, not great in a 90 mil league if memory serves, but also pitches well against me. He won game 7 of an LCS of twisted teams with losing records, stopping my 1989 Yankees (who were admittedly all pitch no hit - look up the pitching staff roster and see who you can twist for that year).

Surprised I don't see Carlton more often.

Carlton won 300 games in the original Just 4 Me progressive.  I think he won 4 Cy Youngs.

LHP seem to underperform a bit in the SIM.
