3 teams in Final 4 Topic

In Phelan, the USA South sent 8 teams to the NT and we have 3 in the final four. There are 2 openings in the conference, so if anyone wants to join a dominant conference sign up for Averett or Methodist.

Methodist must be reserved. I looked on a whim and it is not anywhere to be seen.

I'd be even more impressed if somehow only three teams made the final four.

Even more interesting will be if I win tonight (Palm Beach Atlantic) and Ferrum wins tonight. My son Adam (toknowpepsi) coaches Ferrum, so it would be #1 Ferrum and #2 Palm Beach Atlantic for the championship. He beat me by 30 points early in conference play for my worst loss in probably 10 seasons, then I beat him for the CT championship, so it would be a really intense game if it happens. I'll know when I get up tomorrow morning. We both have a good idea of how each other sets their teams, so I would have to decide if I should just go with what has gotten me this far, or if I should try a new wrinkle just for this game. And I would have to guess if he will do the same. But we both have to win first, and we both have very tough games.

Going back to the original post though, if Methodist is gone, Averett may still be available. That is a strong team for a SIM. They are playing in the PI final four right now. This is their first year without a coach, and Andersaa had the team before, so the talent level is very good. It has probably been at least 7-8 seasons since we have sent less than 6 teams to the NT, and I can't remember the last time that the conference was not #1 in RPI. So there is a whole lot of recruiting cash available every year, and a GREAT group of coaches, both talent wise and conference corner wise.

Looks like you may have inadvertently given the WIS jinx to both of your squads.  Would have been an interesting game though, for sure!

LOL - Yeah - it does seem like I may have jinxed both of our teams. But I do want to put in a plug for our conference. Piedmont is available now in the conference.  If someone wants to try to rebuild a legendary program, here it is. For many years under Claytes this was the dominant program in D3 in Phelan. And it is still tied with Westminster (aejones team) with 5 National Titles, and is 4th in all time NT wins with 84. It is now a C prestige. I believe Averett may also be available.  There should be a HUGE amount of cash for the recruiting this year after sending 3 teams to the final 4 and 8 to the NT.
