I Rule My Team With An Iron Fist Topic

Last season I had a player who dropped 32 points in WE and complained he would transfer if he didn't go from 5 mpg to 10 mpg.

Well, I didn't give him any more minutes and let him sit there and whine about it and lose WE, because I rule with an iron fist on my team (mwa ha ha).

I checked today and find out he didn't transfer at all - he's still on the team after a move to a new season, and is now a senior.

Ironically, I now have room for him in my ten man rotation, but that's only if I don't recruit a better player (which may happen). Still, it's nice to see I got what I wanted: I can rule with an iron fist, and the only "bad" thing that happened was he lost WE.

I wonder...if I don't play him at all because I get someone better, how far will his WE drop? He can't threaten to transfer anymore, he's now a senior.

Should be interesting if I  get the chance to find out.

I have had guys who I have TRIED to get to leave.  They have complained.   I kept them on the bench.  I used the special dropdown menu that lets me make him do the team laundry, makes him run extra suicides, lets me inform him that he wont play next year either, lets the team captain hook up with the guys girlfriend.  All to no avail.......When you want them to go, they usually dont

some folks said all along that the player may not transfer if he sits. If he complains about not playing again his WE could drop some more, but obviously he can't transfer... (unless he has a SR/5 season of eligibility at D2 or D1)

No, he doesn't have a SR/5 season of eligability, AND he's a DIII player.

He'll play this season unless I find a better player during recruiting. If that happens, I expect him to drop WE some more LOL.

Make an example of him to teach the others what happens when they cross you and make idle threats

LOL zags.

If they had an option in the game "make example of player" which made that player drop more WE but prevented everyone else on the team from doing so (because they're scared and you made an example), I'd probably do it.

Yeah that's probably a pretty useless feature - unless someone wants to sacrifice one player for the good of the rest. I know a lot of people wish recruits could transfer so they would get rid of them but get the recruiting cash. Maybe with an option like that at least the guy would do the team some good LOL.

I'd be down with a button that allowed you to actually sacrifice a player, say before a big game or something...(as long as it increased chances to win, and as long as walkons were eligible)

like we told you all along bistiza... there is like a 2% chance (or less) that guy would have transfered. its an idle threat, in almost every case. the rest of us wish we could make guys like this transfer, but we can't. if you figure out how to make it happen, definitely let us know!! :)

edit: dont really mean for that to sound snarky, just saying, these guys almost never transfer. ive never even seen it happen, although some people claim they do. (these people also claim to have seen bigfoot fly, so...)

I had a kid transfer over this once. He was going to be my starter the next season. No promises were involved, it was definitely a case of class expectations. I tried to give him some minutes after the nasty message, but not enough... here's the ticket I had on it, might be beneficial for some... (ETA: I think I missed his first message to me, and tried to respond once I got the second, follow-up...)

** TIME SENSITIVE ** PLEASE EXPEDITE **

Lyndon Harris, a non-qualifier a season ago who came off my bench for 4.6 mpg this season just quit my team saying he didn't get the 5 minutes he asked for. I've never heard of the margin being so tight that .4 mpg would mean a player leaves. This leaves me without my projected starting PG next season (next 3 seasons actually...) and 7 open scholarships. Is there any chance this is somehow an minor error, perhaps a consequence of the recent change closing that promise loophole, or perhaps just another issue altogether? Is it really supposed to be that tight a window?

If possible, I would really like to have the player returned to my lineup ASAP. It seems silly he would leave over just .4 mpg.

Thank you.

Darryl,

He complained on 11/1, asking for 1 or 2 more minutes. At that time he was averaging 6.7 per game. So to be happy he's expecting 7 or 8 MPG.

From that time until his follow-up on 11/5, his average dropped to 2 MPG, which is why the follow-up message is negative.

In order to not transfer, he's expecting 5 MPG in the games after the follow-up message. Since he only averaged about 4.5 during that time, he decided to leave.

I deleted my mail for the season, so I didn't have the exact dates and whatnot of what he sent - I guess that it is what it is then...thanks for looking into it...

I would like to suggest for future revisions that maybe somehow players like this could be promised starts for next season - I had 6 upperclassmen and no where to play him. He would have started the next 3 seasons as I was grooming him to take over at PG.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll take it into consideration for future changes.

I keep logging in hoping to find a message saying after further review we've found something something and the player has been returned to your team - but that's probably not going to happen is it? Makes me very sad heh... I really thought By getting him up to that nearly 5 overall he'd be ok.

Any time a player asks for minutes and you don't give it to them, there's a good chance they'll leave. You did give him some more late in the season, but it wasn't quite enough.
