How many minutes for a 4.0 gpa Topic

I need to get a player a 4.0 gpa.  Is 15 study hall minutes enough or does it need to be higher.

...Why?

I need a player to be eligible.

Eligible is 2.0.

He's probably talking about a guy who he wants to able to play next year (like a guy who was an initally inelgible recruit, so he needs a cumualtive of 2.8 or higher).  To answer your question, if he's an upperclassmen it'll be much easier, but it varies still. I would try maybe 12 just to be safe?

I think that is it.  Turner was ineligible his first year.  He looks like a mediocre DI player.  He can play defense, but can't really score.

How much more growth does this guy have.  I know it's early in the season, but he hasn't gained anything in Ath, Sp, or St, or Reb.  Is he capped out in those attributes.  If he is capped in any category just transfer those minutes to SH.  It shouldn't be hard to get him to 15 minutes, 20 minutes shouldn't even be that difficult if the priority is keeping him around another season.  I wouldn't go more than 20 minutes, though

Turner is red in A, REB, LP, ST, DU.  He is black in SPD, DE, BLK, P, WE.  He is blue in PE, BH, FT.

Is 15 minutes ok?

I'd also like to know why a 4.0 would be necessary.  Never heard of that.

Simple.  Turner currently has a 2.4 GPA.  At Division I, he must have a 2.8 GPA at the end of his 4th year in order to be eligible for a 5th year.   So, if he has exactly a 2.4 over 6 semesters, then he has 14.4 points.  If he had a 4.0 for both semesters, then he would have a total of 22.4 points over 8 semesters.  That would be a 2.8 GPA and he could return.

I think you have to bite the bullet one way or the other.  Either give him a huge number of SH minutes (e.g. 30) or give him just enough to stay eligible this season and accept that the likelihood that he will be eligible for a 5th season is remote.   I might be tempted to give it a try this semester, but if he only got a 3.9, then he is likely done.

Ah, that makes sense.  I had brain-blinders on.  Thanks... and gl tonight.

I would invest a lot more if you need to be SURE of a 4.0.  I'd go 25 or 30.
