6 openings but have a RS Freshman Topic

I have 6 openings for one of my teams but I have a RS freshman.  Can I sign 6 freshmen or can I max out at 5?  What happens if sign 5 freshmen and take a walkon?  Will he be a freshmen?

I believe you can sign only 5 FR - you can of course sign a juco or a transfer

The walkon will be a FR - the limitation is on signing more than 6 into a class.

Yes, if you sign 5 freshmen and take a walk-on he'll be a freshman.  I think you could even offer him a scholarship, but I don't know that for sure...

But you can't sign 6 freshmen.

I don't like the six in a class rule very much because the Sim AI can do it but humans can't.

but I guess they can't let coaches build super teams out of 12 seniors to dominate more balanced teams, and the sim isn't going to do that...

they used to allow it, leading to a number of "superclass championships". back when i was a new coach even, i heard they were changing it, so i picked up a super class team - a crap one - and i won a championship with it anyway. i then recruited my own 10 man on a 6 man budget and they came 1 game from back to back titles in junior/senior year (thats on my first try). so really, it was just too easy, and it really sucked for those teams with normally aligned teams who should have won the championship instead. hose were my 1st and 4th titles, so it was when i was just starting to win titles, not when i had hit my stride (just saying, it means nothing if a top coach in their prime can with with a superclass... but there were plenty of coaches who were just good coaches who were winning with ease, i wasnt a great coach then and one of the teams was total crap IMO, and it was just WAY too easy. my junior class who lost was a 80-90% favorite to win the title game anyway so really it was an inch from 3 titles in 5 years and there is no way i did a good enough job to come close to merit that kind of accomplishment).

so, i for one am glad they changed the rule for humans. it just wasnt a fair scheme. now yeah, sims can do it - but presumably CS would have had to do a bunch of work changing sim recruiting logic to prevent this from happening, and they didnt want to spend the time. i think that is reasonable, sims already suck enough. now if there were sims pulling superclasses winning championships, that would be one thing. but they just go on sucking, so i dont really think its a big deal, and id much rather seble spend time fixing other things! :)
