So if you join a league, albeit a private league and is this a normal everyday introduction?

Did I make an egregious error?  Was the promo not worth the product?  Geez.

From top to bottom with my just sent response:

Feel free to boot me from the league if you can set up a credit from WIS for me.
I really don't need the hassle of this kind of 'private league'.  I don't know how things work over here in HBD, but I can tell I probably made a mistake and there might be a reason that the game was discounted.

Let me know how we can proceed.  Heck I don't know anything about the game yet.  But I think I can figure it out pretty quickly.

I'm really sorry he forgot to renew.  I don't even know how I could switch teams.  Is that even possible?

Heck how will this look on the forums?  Are there forums here?

Matt

Would you mind switching to the other available team? The guy that has owned that team forgot to renew and he has had that team since season 2.

Thanks, REDACTED

Nevermind - I got my HBD mentor to figure out how to bail on the premature matriculation to the wrong team.

While that is not a common occurrence, it looks to me like a very poorly explained request. If the league has not filled yet, switching teams is easy, I don't know if it is possible once the league has filled.  You would be perfectly within your rights to say no to this request - however I'm sure you can see how a long time owner would hate to lose the team he built over all those seasons. Of course, that's also a sign of how fun and addictive this game can be.  I hope that what looks from the outside as a miscommunication doesn't change your mind about trying the game.

It's also a sign that the owner who "forgot to renew" was a dumbass.  You've got three months to renew for the next season.

I'm going to wait this one out and join my Gridiron Dynasty buddies league in a couple weeks.  Thanks for the feedback dudes...
