Wanting to try this again Topic

So I was just wondering if some of you guys would give me a little advice on what offense and defense to run and what I need to look for rating wise in players. I was in Tark before so I want to rejoin them tonight and I was needing to know these so I could select a team I want before they to new coach signups since I have been in that world before. Any help appreciated. Thanks!!

Also is there a maddiesdad or any other spreadsheet for HD?

Player's Guide and the aejones "how to win at d2 and d3" thread should be pretty useful here. I think that's the best way to answer such general questions

gino there is a yatzr recruit tool as well, but nothing like the maddiesdad spreadsheets from GD. The HD community is way more guarded with individual strategy than the GD community.

I believe that is what you're getting at?

How do you plan to build a gameplan or team management spreadsheet for HD? Unlike GD where there is a fixed position (RB can only play RB where position switch carries permanent penalty), you can play a C at PG or a SG at PF, making gameplanning spreadsheets extremely difficult. Maybe no one uses a team management or gameplanning spreadsheet for HD because it's not that useful? Not to mention, maddiesdad spreadsheet for GD hasn't been updated since 2009.

HD community is guarded with their individual strategies?!? I see a mentoring list of 100 or so names in a stickied thread...

Hey gino, you should feel right at home with the recruit tool I made for HD a little while back.

It's pretty much just like the GD recruit tool.  It doesn't come with any default equations for the different positions, but hughesjr shared some equations on page 6 of that thread that you could use.

i use this tool every season and it very much helps me in my goal to do as little work as possible, and it is able to accomplish that without costing me any recruits - hard to miss a good player when you can just sort by how good they are (need to make up equations that represent your definition of good, but its a valuable exercise in and of itself). i really would hate to recruit without it, now...
