Experimenting In HD Topic

I just signed up for a team (won't start for a few more weeks) that I want to use as a practical experiment with.  It's a school that won't require too much work from a recruiting standpoint and I probably won't be able to gameplan every game.  What I was looking to do was create a team that would just be a lot of fun that could possibly win a title.  Pretty much a team I can try different experiments with that will still benefit my conference mates.  Here's the first idea I had:

-Run a 4 guard offense with guys who can light it up from outside and have good speed.  The other starter would be a traditional post guy. I'd run a Press/Flex (isn't Flex best for 3pt threats?).

Does that sound like it could work/does anyone have any better ideas?

Sounds interesting; I would love to hear how that goes!

I would think that other coaches would play you at a +4 or +5 and you would get killed on the boards if your shots weren't falling. But hey, you never know unless you try. Sure makes the game more fun to experiment!

Teams playing +4 or +5 will minimize some of their rebounding advantage. the problem is this kind of team will take 3-4 seasons to have any success at all

Yeah it would probably be necessary for 2 or 3 of the guards on my roster to have rebounding ability.  That said the hope is I can create a TO differential that will limit most of what I lose on the boards.  That and even with a +4 or +5 I doesn't make a big difference if the opponent can't defend.  So, if I have guys either starting or coming off the bench that can make them at 4 positions I doubt many D3 teams have a 2-deep that can defend shooters at all of those positions.  What i'm really worried about other than rebounds is I expect to get killed from the line.  Hopefully, though it can resemble the Villanova team from a few years back.
Edit: Will definitely take a few seasons.  Lots of underclassmen currently on the team.  Here they are: team

A motion team without good per or lp, but loaded everywhere with passing and ball handling?

Whether it was intentional or not, I don't know... but this team had a very guard heavy group (and young) when I played him last season in the NT.  My team killed him on the boards which lead to a surprisingly easy win... he is doing very well this season, but I think he added some rebounding skill (2 freshmen).  He is a very fast team and more experienced this season, little more balanced.  It would have been interesting to see how the team would have done if he stayed on the same path (I think he cut a player or two so he could add forwards).

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about the time that a few coaches from Big 12-Allen got drunk in cornfused's dorm room and had a magical night that none of them has spoken publicly about since.

I don't know any of those people, but that was pretty funny!

Back to the OP, I would think you could build some great teams but unsure if you could take them deep into the NT, simply because you'd be one dimensional and wouldn't have flexibility to gameplan against other good teams.

Yeah i'd be interested to see if they could make any deep runs.  Obviously, a balanced team is more likely to do better, but i'm interested to see and if I don't like it that much i'll just try another experiment.  The bad thing is it will take time with the way the classes are structured but within 5-6 seasons I should be competitive with that insane recruiting base.

Also, that thing with the Big 12 coaches was supposed to remain a secret.

My Shippensburg team is very guard heavy, unintentionally though. I think I just love how talented some D2 guards can be, but I do have some rebounding. And I think my system of FCP/Flex lends itself to being successful with a bunch of guards.
