I sent in a ticket when the Seble clause thread started. While I tried to be polite, I may have been a bit of an *** while asking for an update and regular customer service improvements. I offered suggestions such as monthly updates, month mailbag type features, or just a simple every other week "we're still employed" posts in the forum.

Seble, if you were the one responding to my tickets, I apologize.

Anyway, the person on the other end of the tickets said he/she would post something in the forums soon. We'll see what they have to say.

how's this for nothing (in Dev thread at top of page, from today):

"Hey guys - just wanted to post a quick note to let you know that I am still alive and well.  Things have been busy and I don't currently have anything of substance to report for HD.  There are some things brewing, but I don't have anything concrete to pass along at this time.

We really appreciate your patience while waiting for updates to the games."

I guess that's it. St least we know he's alive

Is a lack of updates necessarily a bad thing?  I like the idea of putting forth updates, then sitting back and seeing how things unfold for a bit before making new updates.

I do agree though, an update once in a while is a good thing.

a lack of programming updates is not a bad thing.... at least not always...

but a lack of communication between company and customers is always a bad thing.

For instance, he says it's been busy and he has nothing for HD at this time. How about saying, we just finished with a GD update, now we're gameplaning what to do next. I'll update you in 2 weeks with that I know.

I'm not demanding an update to the game (although there are things I'd love), i'm demanding interaction on a semi-regular basis, even if it is just a hello like today.

It took 6 months, 9 days, 18 hours and 50 minutes to get this??!?

It did, rednu. It is what it is. What can one do, if WIS is the only real option in town? Some of us could get together and create a better game, I suppose. Don't know if there's already one out there.

I OOTP baseball, but you don't have the person vs person battles etc. I like WIS better.

As a noted hater of seble in the past, dare I say I feel bad for him/his predicament?  Maybe I'm just a sucker nowadays, but I don't think he is given adequate time/resources to work on this or any game on this site.  WIS is probably largely understaffed, I mean the programmers answer the customer complaints?  That's good in a way, but it's also ******* crazy.  It's always seemed that WIS is the red-headed stepchild of FOX Sports and just from some of what I've read, FOX Sports seems to be more interested in competing in a market that they can't win (fantasy baseball/football/etc) or really even make their mark in.

I guess at a very raw base level, I do believe in seble and his ability to make positive changes and run a solid game, but if he's stuck ******* around with FOX Sports **** that doesn't matter, then we'll never see that, and that really isn't his fault.

Also with that said though, I think the game is fantastic as is, and the only things that I would like to see improved/made available are "fluff" items.

And lastly just some food for thought...could you imagine how big WIS would be if ESPN ran it?

12/18/2012 12:07 AM
It would be amazing. Maybe some people should start trying to contact ESPN in anyway they can to give them the headsup about this great site that could explode with their marketing :D

With that said, ESPN might try to change it too much, and may end up ruining it. Who knows.

WIS actually took over ESPN/Bill James version of the classic baseball sim.  ESPN was charging $50 for basically what is the career league version of the simbaseball.  So ESPN already knew it was fighting a losing battle with sim sports and folded/transferred over here.  They gave one free season to ESPN team owners when the switch happened a while back.  So no matter what other than it going back to the smaller tarek owned days it would never really get the $support it seems, it would have to be a smaller scale labor of love to see most improvements or work on the game we would like.
