Ive noticed my team has not shown any practice improvement while playing in the PIT,  do you only get the practice in the NIT and Conf Tourny?

Player improvement stops at the conclusion of the conference tournament. Players do not gain/lose points in the PIT or national tournaments. 

All practice stops after the CT semi-final games. There is no practice in the postseason.

EDIT. Looks like I was a hair slow on the trigger.

I think this is an overfortunate feature of the game.  One of the big benefits of postseason play is the ability to continue to practice and to improve.  In football, it is very big - get to a bowl and you get another month of practice.....in hoops I am confident that it matters a bunch in real life.  I understand the concern about the rich getting richer, but every game you play should make you a better player.

I'd especially like it to add some real value to the PIT.  As it stands, it's really just a nice way to not be bored between end of season and next season.

real value? it impacts prestige, your job credentials, and conference money... same things as the NT. is that not enough?

I suppose I should have used a different word than real.  Yes, there's a tangible benefit from the PIT.  But it's minimal.  Any halfway decent team will see their prestige drop from a PIT visit.  It just drops less.  Woohoo?  The  money is a small step up from insignificant.  Yes, every little bit helps...but...meh.

I have a lower standard for success for some of my teams than many people have for their teams - I consider any postseason appearance to be good and wins there to be even better. Then again, most of my teams aren't contending for national titles, so take that for what it's worth.

yeah, i see what you are saying. i mean, if you are a top team, and you miss the NT, your prestige should drop. still, the PIT is not really much of a consolation prize. but i dont think thats the point of the PIT. its not supposed to be a consolation prize for the top teams, its supposed to be a prize for teams struggling to make it. its a stepping stone, and it lets people start to contribute to the conference earlier, win a couple games, and thats basically a NT appearance. it also lets more people play in a tournament, which is good, i think.

i really dont see a good reason to try to bolster the PIT, its got to be a step below the NT. and making it a better consolation prize for teams who expect to do better, i dont see much value in that, either.

You did just have a near miss in D2 Smith though (NT title game appearance).  Very nice run with that Duluth team!

Yeah I'd like to think I coached the team well, but the reality is I didn't build the core of players who helped propel that run. I recruited one of five starters and only three players total on that team. I give credit where it is due. Someone once said something like "if I see farther, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants", and that is certainly true of that team.

The teams I create myself are usually PIT material with an occasional (usually quite short) run in the NT. What can I say? I'm not a great recruiter (but I believe I'm getting better).
