Is Sullivan the better defender?   Is Sullivan a "good" defender at DII?

Actually, now that I really look it at.   Sullivan is just a better at everything except scoring.

Sullivan is the better defender (the 20 point in DE  make up for the 31 points in speed), better BH and better passer.

Since I don't need Sullivan to score, I am better off using Leatham as 2nd stringer because I will need him to score when my subs are in the game.

TJ Syndrome alert!  Yeah, I'd say a 78/87 is a good D2 defender.

78/87 is a great D2 defender, no question. I'm not sure what else you're looking for in a D2 defender in order for them to be good - 88/97?

The 51 speed scares me.

I generally consider an "average" (for a NT team)  perimeter defender to be close to 70/70/70 ATH/SPD/DEF.   I consider SPD the least important of the three (for defense) and that 51 just seems really low.

I figure he'll likely be covering someone in the 60-80 ATH, 70-90 SPD and 70+ BH.   He looks "less good" when you compare him to other top tier PG's.

I hear you re: speed.  A lot of the folks here seem to think that the speed differential (or maybe the differential of any specific attribute) isn't a big deal.  If you believe the attribute scores are combined  for an overall "Defense-itude" that's then used in simming the games, that makes sense.  I may be misstating part or all of the viewpoint.

I prefer Defens-o-metric.
