Redshirting Question Topic

If a player agrees to a redshirt during recruiting and I decide not to redshirt him as a freshman (I stumbled onto another player agreeing to a redshirt when I randomly tried guys) would he agree to a redshirt as a sophomore, or is that agreement from recruiting wiped away after his freshman year?  He is a weaker player than the others on the team so could be deep in the depth chart if I recruit better next year. Thanks in advance for your help.

Inform of redshirt only matters for the freshmen season.

he might still agree to RS as a soph - based on where he stands compared to others on the team, etc - but the inform of RS will have no effect

I've never yet had anyone but a freshman agree to take an RS. I've tried on at least three sophs and they all had major WE drops so I took it off of them.

I'm currently RS a soph on my Marshall team and he's just rated lower than my other players so he took the RS with no problem.
