Pitchers will all very good ratings are superstars. Guys with weak splits and great control/velocity ... weak pitches and great splits ... great pitches and weak GB/Vel will be solid 3-4-5 pitchers. Those ratings all work together, with some more important than others depending on the teams you're playing, the park, the defense, etc. Jameson's 86 CON/96 VEL and decent pitches, along with a decent vL, is more than enough to make up for a weak vR/GB. There's not a lot of clarity on how pitches like his — with 54-59 P3-P4-P5 affect things. There's some benefit to having 5 pitches and some downside to having pitches in the 50s. Overall, having 5 pitches in the 50s likely helps him to a degree. Duran's ++ CON and 3 plus pitches with none under the 70s offsets those AA splits, and the lack of VEL is minimized by your park. They are not bad pitchers by any stretch unless you consider only splits, which is like judging real players only on their ability to retired either lefties or righties.
