Type A compensation Topic

I have the 34th pick in the 1st round....I lost a FA to the team with the 33rd pick. Now I have lost that pick since that team signed another A FA....is ere any reasoning for this??

For a team that signs multiple Type As, they give out the comp picks in order of the prior season record, with the worst team getting the 1st pick.  It is not really an equitable system but it is meant to help lesser teams improve and encourage parity.

they also re-shuffle right before the draft, right?

I noticed in my current season draft that I had better comp picks at the time of pre-season FA signing, and then they reshuffled the week of draft prep. Part of that, I think, is that it moves all type A picks ahead of all type B picks. If I remember correctly (no way to go back & check) I had a couple type B supplemental round picks that were ahead of other teams' type A picks, until the week of draft prep.

This is not directly related to the question you asked, obviously, but we're in the right ballpark :)
