How long do we have to "Assign Players" in HBD? Topic

Quick question.   Does anyone one know how much time a team has to "assign" a newly signed player?    I signed a FA mid season and don't want to assign him to the big league team until a player on my big league roster clears waivers.        

So will newly signed FA just wait to be assigned until the player clears waivers.   I know at some point if I don't assign him he
will be automatically released.  Just not sure how long.
