(Numbers are d3 based)
Just thinking out loud on how to use the SF in a zone.
Normally, I run a three guard lineup. My SF is usually something like 60-60-60-10 (SPD-ATH-DEF-SB).
It's been my experience that when I play a 2-3 it isn't as effective as running a 3-2 with a minus. I guess that makes sense because my swing player is a guard and the low SB lowers the over all effectiveness of my post defenders.
Now this year my interior defenders happen to be low DEF and High SB. They are like 50-50-70 (ATH-DEF-SB) and I have a couple 70-70-20 wing players. If I play a 2-3, my interior defense then becomes something like 57-57-53. My gut is telling me that 7 points in def and ath is worth 17 points in block.
My perimeter players are good defensively, I don't have to worry about them.
Does that seem right? Am I forgetting something? Are my #'s off?
