What I love most about this is that not only did 1 DII human coached team recruit this guy.  Not another human is recruiting this guys who couldn't help a DIII team.

Would he have to have been recruited, or could you slap a redshirt on a walkon just to make certain the kid didn't actually sneak onto the court?

you can't redshirt a walkon.  Also it says who recruited him, and walkon say they are recruited by simai even on a human coached team.

Ah, yeah, missed the recruited by on the last year's player card. I blame it on a "Friday" before a five-day holiday weekend. These early season egg nog benders are a beast.
