It's at the point now where I don't even remember the wording for when it's good for you to take a job. Literally every job I see is either a step backwards, keep looking, or not qualified. On my other ID in Tark I've been at an A+ for a while and every job is always a step backwards. On this ID I'm at a B prestige coming off a 2nd round and Sweet 16 and A- Villanova is a step backwards and I'm not qualified for A+ UNC obviously.

The coach at Virginia (A+) has a step backwards note for UNC despite the fact that VA hasn't been passed the Sweet 16 in the last 3 seasons, while UNC won a title 3 seasons ago and earned 2 seeds in the tourney back to back seasons with Sweet 16 and 2nd round finishes.

Is there ever a job anymore that is just right for a coach at D1?

kmason, you just can't pay attention to the wording -- it's never really meant anything (other than to tell you that you won't be able to qualify for something). If you've run a really succesful program, odds are that most or all jobs will appear as step back. A little silly? Sure. But just ignore that and go (or don't go) based on your view of program upside and personal preferences.

I know that for sure, I never pay attention to the advice. Just something that could work better.

I'm pretty sure Qualified is only used when moving up a division, all "lateral" moves use the step backwards when qualified.
