I know you mentioned reading through previous posts but I have a question. I have an up and coming shortstop with a 79 overall (91 potential) at the age of 23 in triple a. At the ml level I have a shortstop in the beginning of his prime, however I have a platoon man at third. Spring training is about to start. Would it stunt his growth to test him at third and possibly play there this year? He has great make up and fielding ratings, the only area where he will improve is hitting. Thank you so much!

No, it will not stunt his growth.

At the very least, even if you don't keep him in the Majors, You should definitely invite him to spring training and play him in ST games. I do this with all my top prospects. Spending time with the ML coaches is beneficial to them.

One question: how many years of pro experience does he have? If he's played 5 years already, don't expect any increases in his ratings, regardless of what your advanced scouting says or where you play him.
