I sent in a ticket about the lack of updates here is what they said!

On behalf of all HBD users i am writing to ask you why there has not been an update for HBD in so many years. Many users are afraid that yall are shutting down HBD soon. I would just like some clarity as to when an update may be created if at all? As well as the state of HBD for the years to come as this is a game i love and do not want to see dissapear!

Thanks,

Jake Bugg

Hi Jake,

We fully sympathize with your frustration at the lack of game updates. Believe it or not, we feel that same frustration here. We've taken on a number of projects and our resources are pretty thin right now. However, please understand that we haven't abandoned the games. We have plenty of ideas, and it's only a matter of time for us to get back to where we're updating them more regularly.

Unfortunately, I can't give a specific answer to what's coming next or when."

What do you guys think?

I'll believe it when I see it, but at least they responded as such.

FWIW, there have been many significant changes in GridIron Dynasty recently.    I stopped playing there there long ago, so I can't comment on them personally. Not many there seem happy though.

There are currently many smaller  changes happening in Hoops Dynasty.  I actually like all the HD changes so far.

So it seems to be a 50/50 crap shoot whether the changes will be good or bad ... be careful what you wish for :)

I agree with hughes. I have no objections to some keep it fresh updates, but if you want major changes and rewrites we could be very sorry. He is right, the rewrites in GD have not been for the good.

HBD is a pretty solid game the way it is, the Emperor does not need a new set of clothes.

what are they going to say? Yes, we're ending the games so you may as well stop playing them??  I'll believe it when I see it.

We have been told for YEARS we would have an Arizona Fall League.  It has never happened.  Remember three years ago when they said they were going to rededicate resources to this game?  THAT NEVER HAPPENED EITHER.  WIFS is dead.

For prospects whose signability indicates "looking to be drafted in the first round", assuming the prospect is in fact signed in the first round:

From a conservative, aggressive perspective, how are prospects with that signability treated

How likely are they to initially ask for slot money (even if they come back later and ask for more)

While the prospect in question signed with no problems, the response time for this question is pretty bad

At least give me a canned response at this point

Are you watching the world cup? Belgium won today

Did anyone in your office have chilie beating Spain today?
6/18/2014 10:24 PM dherz_263
I don't think I spelt Chile right in my previous follow up question to this ticket

Based on my limited experience, if they don't have an answer or don't want to answer, they don't reply.

I'm not sure I agree with that. But that's how they roll.

They don't seem to like to give info about how HBD works beyond what's in the help sections or previous Dev Chats. This question would fall into that category.

The answer is you use the How Conservative settings to make an initial ranking.  They you look at the results and adjust.

Looking To Be Drafted In The First Round seems to mean they will ask for 1st round money, no matter where they are drafted.  You can look at draft histories to get some idea what they'll ask for. Probably Won't Sign ask for a lot.  You'll see some of those in the highest paid 1st round picks. They are usually not worth signing after the 2nd round (if that).

You'll see some 1st round picks that got a little more than the guys around them. Those are probably the Looking To Be Drafted In the 1st Round guys.  I've never had a problem signing them for a reasonable amount as long as I drafted them in the 1st round.

I sent a ticket in on 6/17 at 2:30 PM. Got my first response at 3:30 the same day. I replied at 7:30 PM and they got back to me again at 10:30 PM, again all in the same day. So they're definitely there.

Not trying to be a dick but dherz question is all over the place.   You're more likely to get a response, even a sorry one, if you're clear.

They transferred a team for me in about 12 hours this morning.

a) it wasn't that unclear.

b) not responding is worse than "I'm sorry, can you be more clear?" Just ignoring people, which seems to be more and more common, is unprofessional.
6/19/2014 5:41 PM
A) It wasn't that clear.  He wants to know the signability issues with "looking to be drafted in the first round" but takes the long road to get there.

B) I don't disagree with any of that.   However, as you can see with his follow-ups, I'm not sure "Can you be more clear?" would have been met with a positive response.

Do you deal with people in your current job?    If so, don't tell me you don't attempt to ignore "problem people" from time to time because it's just not time-efficient to do so.
6/19/2014 5:50 PM
FWIW, customer service that deals with the general public has to be the worst job on earth.   Been there, done that and, God willing, won't be there again.
6/19/2014 5:51 PM
We all figured out what he was asking.  And yes, I deal with people at my job.  If a customer calls or emails with an issue or question, I don't ignore them, even if the call or email is "dumb."  Not that this was.
6/19/2014 6:29 PM
I agree my question wasn't entirely clear, which is what I get for sending a question at midnight in the busiest time of year for me. But yes, I'd have thought some sort of response within half a year was appropriate.
