Has anybody ever not been a back up... then as cycles go on call the HS coach again and became a backup option?  Or is it once you are not a backup option you never are...?

I've had at least two players that I've signed not acknowledge my phone call (no message received but $10 spent and deducted for the call) who, after signings began, appeared as drop downs in my division and were receptive to recruiting at that time. Not quite the scenario you're asking about, i guess, but I would say there's at least a chance as long as you don't get a hard no (please stop calling me *SLAM*) type message that they can show up as recruitable later down the line in at least isolated instances.

I was talking about the HS coach saying "you are chasing something you will never catch" turn into, "if his other options fall through you may be a backup" then be able to pull him down late in recruiting since theoretically recruits start dropping the longer they don't get signed.  Buuuuut, I didn't know if this situation has ever happened or if anybody has ever tried.
