First season of HBD and I've got a bit of a lineup conundrum vs. L's when I have a DH.

A. whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx   is currently in the DH spot.
B. whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx   should be a DH but is in RF because he's just too damn good against L's.
C. whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx   has great Con/Pow splits but has below average L/R splits and a reverse platoon split that is a bummer. On the plus side, I'd be able to play him at LF or 1B and my current, defensively superior, LF or 1B to RF.

Thus my options are;

Player A as my DH and Player B playing DH level defense in RF and Player C riding pine.

Player B at DH, Player C at 1B/LF, a competent defender in RF and Player A on the bench.

What do you guys think?

Player C shouldn't be playing against LH.   Player A shouldn't be playing against RH.    Problem solved.

You want to get Martin's bat in the lineup. Because of his D & 62 DUR, best he's your DH.  He'll need to rest against some RHP.

You'll have to see for yourself if De La Rosa in RF hits enough to make up for the runs he'll cost you on D.  All people can tell you in the forum is that it's not a crazy bad move to put him in RF.

Skipworth is nothing great for a 1B. He's cheap and that's worth something. He's a good D 1B, bad D LF.  I'd try to play him at 1B, but he won't kill you in LF.  He can play pretty much every day, which is worth something.

Thanks for the feedback. Player A won't be playing against RH. My main concern was whether Player A 's advantage over Player C at the plate was great enough to offset the defensive liability of a DH in RF. Since you've done the most research on this matter I'll defer to your judgement.

Honestly, I don't think A or B hit well enough to play in RF.   Both have weak arms so the negative plays will increase over a Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Kevin Ryu who OPS's over .900 while throwing out 14-15 negative plays/6-8 errors in 140 games.     Your two will be worse while OPSing 100 points less.

IMO, you find a competent RF and work out your DH issues with your failed C/DH/RF guys.

I wouldn't have guessed that Player B would OPS 100pts less than your player against LHs. And that's all I'm worried about. If player B is in the lineup against a RH its only going to be at DH.

I was just looking at his career numbers.  He's obviously gotten plenty of AB VR.  You'd have to dig a little deeper to find out what it is VL only.

+1, although I think it's close.  I think that the Martin (RF)/Lunar (1B) lineup scores about 25 more runs per 162 games more than the Lunar (RF)/Skipworth (1B) lineup, but gives back almost exactly the same number of runs defensively.

But the important message from Mike's post is that you should go out and find another player.  Guys who can play 1B and hit LHP are a dime a dozen; go pay one $2M and trade Martin for anything you can get.

Finding another player is my ultimate goal. Tough at the moment due to some accidental player signings (Martin included) that have left my budget tight. I just wanted to be prepared in case I couldn't find another legit option.

Well, if you don't really have options, you just have to take your lumps.    Player B plays full-time while the other two platoon.  Just use the best defensive line-up when you do that.
