  The United States Postal Service sent me a personal apology.  It reads like this:

  "Dear valued postal customer:

  I want to extend my sincere apology as your Postmaster for the enclosed document that was inadvertently damaged in handling by your Postal Service.

  We are aware how important your mail is to you.  With that in mind, we are forwarding it to you in an EXPEDITIOUS FASHION.

  The United States Postal Service handles over 202 billion pieces of mail each year.  While each employee makes a concerted effort to process, without damage, each piece of mail, an occasional mishap does happen."

  

  Then these sons of ******* go on to cover their ***** in the plea of correct addressing as if that would help ADRESS the situation.  In the middle of the apology they turn it around on us as if we did something wrong.  Then they apologize again and it's over.  Signed YOUR POSTMASTER.

  So what does all of this mean?  

  I'll tell you.

    I have noticed the past several months my issues of my LIMBAUGH LETTER have been torn and ripped up or otherwise defaced.   Today it came in a special envelope, at taxpayer cost, with an apology on the back from the Postmaster General.

  I understand none of you get the LIMBAUGH LETTER and most of you could care less.  I wonder if ANY of you even bother to subscribe to RUSH 24/7.  And that in itself explains everything.  

  It explains why I am on the cutting edge of every issue and fully informed.  It explains why yet another government taxpayer funded entity has attacked its neighbor.  It explains the current situation in Washington and the culture of Pop.  Pop will eat itself. 

  I choose to save the last magazine to shoot down anyone who would not get it or have a question.  The low information, uninformed, uneducated, ignorant, or otherwise unsalvageable waste of human refuse that is the mountain of broken toys and the repository of liberalism.

You pathetic parasite, relying on an agency of the federal government to deliver your mail for you.
Just another leech living off the welfare state.  

Thanks for the smiley otherwise I would have had to shoot off a searing retort followed by a dialogue of clever reporte ending with the obvious UPS and FEDEX resolution.

  Here's the thing.  Who in the hell in the post office decides they can rip up RUSH LIMBAUGH  mags?  WHO does that?  WHY would you do that?  Fer Chrissake!

  YOU are a FEDERAL employee.  YOU get the GOLDEN PARACHUTE!  I pay your wage and (tee hee) you think you will get some kind of guaranteed monies long after you are retired.  But you forget one thing.  The people you just **** on are the ones backing your check.  You just crapped on your retirement.  You just destroyed it.  Ain't gonna be there for you.  You best step back 50 years and meet reality.  We don't need you and we don't want you.  And you are protected by the FEDERAL government and all the peoples because we say you can't destroy a mailbox or mess with somebodies mail BUT then you step around and destroy ours. That's a bunch of crap.

  I've seen a lot of things in my lifetime.  I've never seen what I've just seen over the last six years.  This hell needs to end.

That sucks that your mail is being tampered with.  There is no excuse for it.  

Not the same field of work, but perhaps a parallel situation.  A hospital in Windsor, ON had an employee who was snooping in patient records that she did not need to be in (e.g., to directly support the patient's care).

She got canned.  

Losing one's job is not to be taken lightly, but then, the responsibilities and trust placed in an employee are not to be taken lightly either.

Working at a hospital, post office, police department, school, etc. should be seen as a privilege, and treated as such.

Your mail being damaged is a direct assault upon your freedoms.  And everyone else's freedoms, too.  Whether or not anybody on this board or at that postal station likes or dislikes the views expressed in your Rush magazine is absolutely immaterial.

I would hope that any Rush-haters would recognize that it is NOT okay to trash a magazine just because it features Rush.

I am not a fan of RL or his commentaries, but I am incensed that this has happened to your stuff.

Doug is a bit. He's not serious. He's anton or someone else making fun of conservatives by pretending to be the dumbest person on earth.

I wish I could believe that, but I've known too many people in the real world who sound just like our Dougie here, so I definitely don't reject the possibility that he's 100% for real.

He's also been around for a LONG time.  So has Stephen Colbert, so it doesn't necessarily prove anything.  But it helps.

  I am quite real and I am quite serious.  I would venture about 40% of the population agrees with Rush 80 to 90% of the time.  Another 20% probably agree with him the majority of the time.  The rest do not support his opinion on most issues most of the time.  But if you rolled it all into one big ball you would find overall, Rush is supported by the majority on the majority of issues.  

  A lot of people don't realize how conservative they are until they break it down issue by issue.  I bet both of you are more conservative than you think.  debater more than BL but you BOTH hold the same beliefs and opinions as Rush on multiple issues.  For instance, PORK SPENDING!  Rush doesn't like it and I bet you don't either.  Rush has no love lost for John McCain but he backed him on his stand against the pork spending in the last bill.  Harry Reid loves PORK.  Some people do too.  The ones that are getting it.  It's just one example where you agree with Rush over Harry Reid.  I hope.

  I have one more point to make.  Humor me.  It will take a few minutes. 

There are issues on which I'm sure I would have agreed with Hitler as well.  Or Sadam Hussein.  Or Castro.  Or Mao.  That doesn't mean I would use any of them as the sole source of my news and information, or for direction on issues on which I might not already agree with him.

Any by the way, I'm not necessarily equating Rush with this list of despots.  I'm just listing guys who I'm pretty sure you don't like who, as human beings, probably shared a reasonable number of political opinions with most other human beings.  Or at least a few.

  Recently a big story came out about a conservative group on some college campus.  Some girl claimed they gang raped her.  THE MEDIA ran with the story.  Turns out it wasn't true.  Totally made up.  Just like the Duke LaCross incident.  Here's the point:  Some people heard the original story or saw the headline and still don't know the truth.  THE MEDIA is big on running with a story on hearsay but short on investigation.  Even worse on retraction.  

  Rush just did a big thing on the NY TIMES in the last week or so about this.  The TIMES prints all these retractions on page whatever in section pick a letter.  Nobody reads it.  They read the headline 4 days before and that's what they remember and that's what they walk away with and so the retraction is meaningless.  People walk around believing a lie.  The lie was front page.  The truth was hidden on page 23 of section D in a one line blurb.  Nobody sees the truth.

  It's not a crime to listen to Rush or read the Washington Times.  The crime is then not tuning into MSNBC or reading the ATLANTIC.  ANYBODY that gets their news and opinion from one side or source or party and never listens to the other can never make a balanced opinion.  The only thing that can come from a one sided input is a one sided output.  Balance requires two sides.  Physics tells us this.  And so it is with life and politics.
