named my son Dean.
partly because dean smith always seemed to me to be one of the classiest guys ever. and always in control.

I became a basketball fan while Dean Smith was coaching. I remember the discussions about he was a good coach but maybe not good enough to ever win a championship. Sigh. Even back then people wanted it NOW!
