I have no idea what team to choose, I narrowed it down to these teams. I planned to play Flex or Triangle, man to man... But could change my mind. The long shot D+, the Yale D long shot was no.

For those who know Tarkanian, what's the better opportunity. They all seem alike to me.

You can make any team into a PIT/NT contender in a bad conference very quickly. Maybe some people like it, but I think it gets very boring very fast beating up on sims with no competition and no one to chat with on the coaches corner...plus you're always one loss in the CT away from a totally wasted season. So, to me, building a team in an empty dead conference feels like a waste. Point being--I'd pick the most active conference you can find--people to talk to and learn from, some better conference games, and the possibility of getting multiple teams in the PIT/NT and more recruiting money. Quick look at those teams, it looks like Southland/Lamar might be the most active.

There are other factors you could look at as well, the number of available scholarships right away, any holdover sim underclassmen who are decent, etc., but for me the conference is the most important thing. It does depend on what you want to get out of the game and the team.

You might want to take a look at the Big Sky Conference in Tark that I just joined. You would make it 6 teams in the conference. The best thing I see about the conference is the teams are spread out across the country so you are not fighting other conference mates for recruits. I almost took the Sacramento St. job before I settled on N. Arizona. You would be the only conference school in California and there are a LOT of D1 recruits in California every year. There are a couple of other
D1 mid major teams in the area from the WCC but in most worlds there are more. I did a quick count and there were over 35 D1 recruits in California ranked from 75 to 175 at their positions--the range you would be looking at with a D school.

The central east area where all the other teams you are looking at is a VERY crowded area with lots of teams. While looking at a particular team is all well and good you might want to also look at the area they are in and what is recruiting going to be like.

I hope you come join us in the Big Sky.

Ha--why did you ask us if you had already applied? Can I have my 5 minutes back, please?

You actually helped me out. I applied and it was processed later on.

I went with that logic .

1) Experienced owners told me the rating was the most important. So I went with D, which was the highest I could get. I had plenty of D- offers...

2) You told me, if you want to rebuild fast, get as many scholarships as you can. The team IUPUI has 5, which was the most.

3) I almost took Morris Brown but that team does not even exist anymore....

4) As you said, it's a transition team, so winning is key.

Thanks Bath!
