Team help Please Topic

I am looking for some help. I have been doing this a while and cannot seem to get any better as a coach. I think this is one of my better teams I have ever had in D1 but I just cannot seem to really make a great run. I had a good season but still lose every game I should and usually lose a few I shouldn't.  Can someone look at this roster and see maybe where I can make some improvements please?  I run motion usually slow down  because of speed and big man speed issues.  I run man to man defense usually around -2.  I would like to be more of a fast paced team because I like high scores. I guess I am not really looking at how this team should have been better but more of what I am doing wrong in looking at teams and  what I should recruit better for man to man defense, should recruit better for motion, how I use tempo, how I do distribution and minutes because I usually do it pretty much the same. I try to have guards and SF's that are high per and high defuse. Bigs that are high ath and lp. I always try to have high defense. Any help from the better coaches would really be appreciated. Thank you. Link to roster at bottom.

I'd play Ambriz at the three spot. O'neil would have a 15 to 20 dis off the bench. I'd lower Clark to 10, and Henderson to 6 ;, Labadie 12 to 15 off the bench, Wert 10 off the bench. Maskell at the 2 spot.

You have lots of scoring options, do you have a passer? I'd lower the dis on my best passers so they set up shooters more than looking for their own shots.

your team isn't bad for a mid-major.  You can't just set one distro and stick with it, it needs to be adjusted game to game.  I assume you're mad about the loss to FSU.  although their 9 guys are superior to your top 9, you probably could have gone uptempo and taken advantage of those 3 walk-ons and your nice IQ advantage.

You have an elite perimeter team but yet don't take a lot of 3's, relatively.  look at Ball St. with a similar perimeter team(and similar overall team) and they take about 40% more 3's than you and still make a fantastic % of them.

Looks like your recruiting is decent for a D or C- prestige (as you're getting similar guys that I get with a B prestige), but you just need to play to your strengths more and focus on the game at hand rather than an overall lineup and distro.

Also ... You look like you are doing target minutes, have you tried stamina to see how the team does?

When I was at a mid major I made the same mistake that I think you are making. When recruiting I wanted the best talent possible to try to compete with the big boys. What I learned is it is better to build a cohesive team than just a collection of talent, that may not fit together. You seem to focus too much on PER. I love PER, PER is great, but you have so many shooters that you are experiencing diminishing returns on their talent. I try to set up my teams to have a good distributor, 2 scorers (1 outside and 1 inside ideally), 2 rebounders and hopefully everyone plays decent D. Don't be afraid to use a defensive stopper(Bandy) that is not going to score if you already have plenty of offense. You have an impressive group of players for a mid major, but they are all too similar. You could use a couple of specialists (especially a PG who can pass and dribble), who are usually easier to recruit anyway.
