What in that resume looks like a number 2 overall on the projection report? Especially over Christopher newport who a: has a better record and b: beat me solidly?

Not sure, but when the season started you were ranked 19 (?) and Christopher Newport was ranked 25 (?). You started the season on a higher rung and have had a very good season. All your losses are against top ten RPI teams (as are his). So, you started the season in a better spot.

I'm also not in that world so I can't see the rest of everything that is going on, but you have a solid team and I would expect to see you near the top. Maybe not number two, but definitely as a one or two seed

Margin of victory, margin of defeat, especially against better teams does make a difference. Admin had stated that it's reflective in the projection report. A 20 point loss is not the same as a 5 point loss to the same team.

It corrected itself with CNU winning while I was off.
