I cannot find the full game as I did for games 6 and 7 but game 5 was the gem. Maybe the greatest ever. An aging Johnny Mize should have had 3 home runs: Pafko and Furillo made catches that surpass even Dwight Evans' in game 6 (1986) Or Ron Swoboda's.

But this is probably the greatest game 7 ever in a World Series - I could only find the last 3 innings in original broadcast, but they are a whole game in themselves. Wow. And like Johnny Mize - who almost hit 3 home runs in a Series game in 1952 (see above), Hal Smith ALMOST became the most famous hitter ever in a World Series. And had Mantle not gotten back to first base on Berra's slash to Nelson, the Pirates would have won it.
