The all-around SF... Topic

Anyone gave up on the all-around SF, the typical idea of what is a SF? I keep recruiting one, the player rarely develops into something special. I end up benching him or giving him few minutes come senior time. I always check the high-highs, hope for the best, but it seems, I never get the player I expect Maybe I should go for something else. Is there any value in an all-around player with no real top stats?

I am starting to doubt it..

I used to do the same as you.  However recently I have had some good suucess recruiting PG-SG that have good LP values and potential, OR FAST PF that have good BH-SPD-PA, and only fair potential LP and REB.  In doing this I get tweeners with good growth that cause match up problems for SF's recruited as SF.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
I set a player role of what I expect in an SF .. then recruit to fill it.  Sometimes it is a PG/SG guy with good LP/BLK/ATH or sometimes it is a PF/C guy with good PER/BH/PASS.  Sometimes it is also an SF.

Those are my main rating system for all position roles .. the TOT-R is for recruiting (No Free Throws or Off / Def IQs) .. the TOT includes those 3 things too .. then divides the overall rating by 1.25 to shift it back to a 0-100 scale.

Note, that is for Press teams .. SPD could be lower for Man-to-Man or Zone.

In D3, you have to give something up  I chose PASS and BLK for this guy.  He's pretty damn good.

Look at the bright side Nacho.   You use grammar wonderfully and rarely mess up homophones.

What type of grammar I choose to use or not use in the privacy of my own home is none of your business.

Guys with high LP and PER at D3 are killers. He's an awesome player. I have a guy at D2 (Gary Brown), who at only 37 LP and 53 PER is not a huge offensive threat, and I'd say he's a true SF (although I guess you could make the argument that he'd be a decent PG). He's obviously an amazing defender, but isn't one of those defense-only types that can be played anywhere just as a wild card.
