Douglas Griffey had the same injury in my Season 30.  Missed the second half.  I had 20 mil in Medical.  Looks like he lost the same ratings categories that your guy Beltran did.  I suppose that because he wasn't a CF - and I also had 20 mil in Training? - he didn't have the big drop in Range that Beltran did, but he never got his back.  Unless you get real lucky, I suspect bjschumacher is right.

Because of where you are in the season, he's only getting 1 recovery cycle. 

He doesn't recover during the offseason? 

that seems like a bug to me... I'd feel someone could recover the physical skills they'd lose temporarily for this type of injury.. 

He will recover some.    I don't think he's getting back to where he was.    That said Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Matt Christensen had a big injury late in S27 and only got one recovery cycle.    He kept improving when players normally don't.

I would still play a 72 range 95 glove in CF, unless I had a better option available with an equal or better bat.   And chances are, he'll get back to at least 75 range at some point (with recovery and at his age, he should bump up another point or two after that)

72 range is gonna produce about 15-18 negative plays in CF.   Not sure that's such a great idea.

I would say closer to 10, but it's a trade-off for sure.  Would love to have solid bats with the recommended fielding ratings at every position, but those seem hard to come by at times.   If an owner wanted to play an 85-85 guy who can't hit instead of that guy, I wouldn't tell them they're doing the wrong thing, but I'm willing to trade-off a bit of defense for a bat depending on the situation.  Guess it's just a matter of personal preference.  

Oh, yeah, there are many ways to build a team.   But 72 range in CF seems crazy to me.   Of course, I use SP with 50 stamina who pitch 3-4 innings and some think that's crazy.
