We all know Phelan DII is parity, but here are the favorites at the start of the season.

1. UNC Pembroke
Athletic oriented press team, one solid scorer who could get tired against relentless défenses. Favorite to win it all at the start of the season.

2. Grand Canyon
Even faster than last year, looking to build on an impressive run in the NT. The team got a bit older, so experience should work in its favor.

3. CSU Dominguez Hills
Last year finalist. Well balanced, no true holes, can win in a lot of ways. Press minded team with depth.

4. Limestone
Trentonjoe has impressed a lot by getting better teams each and every year. Last year was a disappointing NT, maybe Limestone will bounce back and make it to the final four.

5. Mercyhurst
Could have trouble with shooting, but overall pretty solid. Maybe it will blossom at the end of the season.

6. Pace
A stacked senior class, good speed to press with, and a lot of juniors competing for playing time. A solid chance to impress and make other coaches miserable.

7. Delta State
It's an offensive powerhouse that could be lacking athleticism. But we are betting that if the offense clicks, that team will be competing all the way to the elite eight.

8. New Jersey Tech
Jwinner brings his most mature man to man team into a season where the players want to become NT CHAMPIONS. Anything less will be a disappointment. Final four in 81, Elite 8 in 82... Let's the story be written.

9. Quincy
Got upset last year, a bad NT. The junior class is ready. Look out for themonstar.

10. Philadelphia
The team is Young, with a lot of freshmen on the roster. It could be the problem for DTM. Kowalewski will need to step up if Philly wants to hold his own against the bests.

You will have to slow press people. 69 stam won't cut an uptempo strat.

This season may be a battle, but next season will be the coaches problem if we don't win. Lots of blue left in these guys. I suck as a coach, so lets see what happens!

Starting to realize that I need to compensate for my weak conference (WVIAC, 1 other very good team and the rest sims) with some tougher non-conference opponents.  Feel free to send me a non-conference schedule request for next season (Charleston).

It's a little more complicated than that but I think I got it figured out....mostly....limestone will be ready come NT time.

After the non-conference games, we get a better feel of the top teams in Phelan DII.

1. CSU Dominguez Hills : Previously ranked #3, has to be considered #1
That team will probably have the toughest conference Schedule so we should know more about the overall depth and talent of the team. But two wins against top 25 teams in non-con is impressive. The SOS is not that high though at 88.

2. New Jersey Tech : Previously ranked #8
Jwinner beat Garmansouth and its Young athletic squad, the game was close but it still a major accomplishment. Unbeaten like CSU Dominguez HIlls, New Jersey beat 3 top 25 teams in non-con.

3. UNC Pembroke : Previously ranked #1
A loss against New Jersey Tech has been a stepping stone for this team. We all know the Young squad will get better has the season progress. So it's scary.

4. Quincy : Previously ranked #9
Unbeaten in non-conference games. Has only faced a top 25 team so it could be an inflated ranked team.

5. Pace : Previously ranked #6
Another team stacked with seniors. It is still early though since in non-con, no win against top 25 teams but still solid wins in an allright Schedule. 9-1 record.

6. Grand Canyon : Previously ranked #2
We stand by Grand Canyon even if the 7-3 record is not what the coach was hoping for. It's a different basketball philosophy that will surprise at the end of the season. Grand Canyon had key wins against Rollins and Bloomfield and a close loss to Green Mountain.

7. Green Mountain : Unranked
A 10-0 record, a SOS as high as can be... Wins against Tarleton St..., Grand Canyon, Northeastern and Mercyhurst.

8. LIU CW Post : Unranked
Trophaum is 10-0 in non-con, and arguably the best coach in DII Phelan. His National Championships (5) speak for themselves.

9. Limestone : Previously ranked #4
Trentonjoe is struggling with his strategy. Rumors at Limestone is that he is struggling with the bottle too. But the AD would not comment on rumors.

10.Seattle : Unranked
A 10-0 record, a really tough non-con Schedule. All convincing wins.
