Stop starting new worlds Topic

As of this morning when I looked there were 210 openings in worlds waiting to start a new season (102 in public and 108 in private). It wasn't long ago we were at a pretty decent balance of supply and demand that kept most worlds rolling along without too much of a wait. All the new worlds that have been created have seemed to upset this balance.

I hope you have a plan to stimulate demand before more of us leave.

Actually the opposite of what you describe has been happening - worlds that might appear 'new' are actually Season 1 of worlds merged from 2 (or even 3) struggling worlds.
New worlds haven't been created in a long time.

Oh.   Nevermind.

My bad, I thought I remember them starting a few new worlds last year and assumed some of these worlds under 5 seasons were also new.

Maybe its time to start lowering the price? Basic economics  says that if your supply is greater than demand you lower the price point to drive demand.

Nah.  You pay $25 for a steak, you eat the steak or send it back.   You pay $5 for a burger, you say "**** this burger", toss it in the trash and go buy another.   HBD requires that you care about your team.    HBD would  be awesome if a team costs $150.  Because everyone would be attached to their team.    There would be 12 worlds but all of them would be strong.

Still the same old problem

Too many worlds and too many unrealistic owners.

One world has 15 openings and should really just go with a merger, but here are a couple of actual owner posts:

If we have to merge, I'm done playing.

I am against a merge. There must be a ton of openings. I have received invites into five different worlds in the last week

What these poor guys don't realize is they ALREADY are done playing.
In today's HBD climate a world with 15 openings is going to take several months to fill at best and likely will not fill.

There are many reasons to NOT want to merge.   For me, the biggest sticking point would be not being allowed to decide who you play with.    There are several assclowns that I don't want in my world, I'm sure more than one owner feels that way about me, and, if you merge, you're taking on a dozen owners that you had no say in adding.   Of course, I have no say in Mantle(I trust tec to not let in dipshits) or Foxx(TWC in a public world) but I understand those situations.    With a merge, you might be adding 10 guys who contributed to the downfall of a world.   It's just not a situation I'd want to be in.

I agree 100% with most of what you posted, but what's the most openings you've had in Coop, MG or Mantle?

Apples and Oranges.

These guys are in worlds that have poor commissioners and not very many owners contributing if any. They just sit there and think somehow they will magically fill one day. Believe me those guys will change their tune after 2-3 more months, they just don't realize it yet.

There are worlds out there with 8+ openings that rolled back in January. They are delusional.

I suppose that is their right, but it sure doesn't help with the ultimate fix, which is shrinking the footprint to a much more manageable # of worlds.

Yeah, merging doesn't really apply to me.   I hope it never does.
